Jeffrey Snyder is currently Second Trumpet of Symphony Tacoma. He has performed with the San Diego Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Oregon Symphony, Spokane Symphony, Eugene Symphony, Yakima Symphony, Portland Opera, and the Oregon Ballet Theatre. A versatile performer, Jeff has played for Ray Charles, the Legend of Zelda Symphony Tour, The Temptations, Kenny Rogers, Chicago, Cheap Trick, Patti LaBelle, Ben E. King, Maureen McGovern, Judy Collins, Jackie Evancho, Al Jarreau, and the touring Broadway musical Damn Yankees starring Jerry Lewis. He is also a member of the Portland Brass Quintet and can be heard performing for the Portland Christmas Revels each December. Jeff received music degrees from Florida State University, Washington State University, and a performance diploma from the New England Conservatory of Music. He has studied with Gerald Webster, Bryan Goff, Edward H. Tarr and Charles Schlueter, principal trumpet of the Boston Symphony.
For over 30 years, Jeff has worked for Monette Corporation helping build some of the best and most innovative trumpets in the world. In this capacity he has tested prototype instruments, assisting Mr. Monette, for Wynton Marsalis, Charles Schlueter, Maynard Ferguson, Terence Blanchard, Ingrid Jensen, Ron Miles, Manny Laureano, Adam Rapa and others. He can be seen and heard playing on hundreds of videos at the Monette Corporation Facebook page.
Jeff has performed the National Anthem for the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park and the Portland Trailblazers at the Rose Garden. He has also performed at important occasions including the dedication of the remodeled Multnomah County Library, the 100th Anniversary of the Pittock Mansion, the opening of Tilikum Crossing, and the grand opening of the former Civic Stadium (now Providence Park). He has toured Europe performing recitals at cathedrals in locations such as Cologne, Germany, Rotterdam and Enkhuisen, Holland, and Antwerp, Belgium.
In 2014, Jeff was appointed Professor of Trumpet at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington.
